The Atec Story.

In 2017, Atec was launched to define a new tone and standard; to weave the best in data solutions through a peerless digital customer experience via technology that’s agnostic, simple and scalable.
The journey began by transforming Ceta, a top regional broker that served its community for a generation, to unlock its potential as a next-gen Insurtech powerhouse. In 2019, Atec launched specialist underwriting division Arkel to support both Ceta and the direct-to-customer InsureMy network.
Today, Atec protect customers directly, and facilitate double-digit growth for institutions, distributors and partners, retail and wholesale, all across UK insurance.

Brendan Devine
CEO
Joined: August 2020
With over 30 years experience in the financial service and insurance industry, Brendan brings a wealth of knowledge to the business. He has successfully grown businesses in the UK and Ireland, including household names, from GE Money Motor Finance to Kwik Fit Insurance and he was the founder of digital motor insurance broker Sure Thing!. He prides himself on putting the customer at the heart of the business.
Outside of work, Brendan enjoys travelling, going on walks and playing golf.
Ian Gilbert
CFO
Joined: May 2019
Prior to joining Atec, Ian was Director of Finance at Hawk Incentives, part of a global incentives and rewards company. He started his career in accounting and consultancy roles with PwC, specialising in M&A before moving into a senior industry role with employee benefits company Grass Roots.
His favourite aspect of working at Atec is being part of building a great company that is using data to develop ground breaking solutions for its clients.
Outside of work, Ian enjoys spending time with his young family, skiing, cycling and playing squash.
Matthew Donaldson Chairman

Matthew has over 30 year's experience in the insurance and financial services industry. Formerly CEO of BGL Group and founder of Compare the Market, Matthew is a very high-profile figure within the UK insurance industry. His focus is supporting the growth of the business, ensuring great outcomes for the customer.
Outside work Matthew likes to spend time with his family and socialising with friends.
